Who I Am

Arjit Magar

Engineer & Researcher
Building Real Things

I'm a sophomore at Texas State University studying Electrical Engineering with a Computer Engineering focus and a minor in Applied Mathematics. I care deeply about making systems that work reliably, from microcontroller firmware to data analysis pipelines.

Currently I'm doing undergraduate research in the Lee Lab on semiconductor device characterization, engineering a driver display for the Formula SAE team, and helping students master circuit analysis as an SI Leader.

What I've Done

Work Experience
Jan 2026 โ€“ Present
Circuits I Supplemental Instruction Leader
Texas State University, San Marcos, TX
  • Conducted weekly sessions to help 50+ students on nodal/mesh analysis, Kirchhoff's laws, and Thevenin/Norton equivalent to solve complex electrical circuit problems
  • Collaborated with electrical engineering faculty to assess student performance and developed structured and targeted learning session plans
Aug 2025 โ€“ Present
Leadership & Service Council
Texas State University, San Marcos, TX
  • Assisted with coordination and execution of leadership & service initiatives such as Bobcats Lead, Lunch with Lead, Presentation Nights, and Service Saturdays
  • Facilitated peer-to-peer leadership development workshops for 100+ students at retreats, helping them strengthen leadership skills and build confidence
Research
Feb 2026 โ€“ Present
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Lee Lab, Texas State University, San Marcos, TX
  • Implemented a Python-based Transfer Length Method extraction pipeline using linear regression to characterize sheet and contact resistance from multi-device measurements, validated against TCAD simulations
  • Built Matplotlib boxplots to visualize resistance distributions across voltage sweeps, making results from 1,000+ device combinations easy to interpret

Things I've Built

Driver's Display
ESP32CAN Bus Embedded COLED
Driver's Display โ€” Formula SAE

ESP32-based cockpit display with real-time vehicle telemetry over the CAN bus. Built embedded C firmware to decode CAN messages and render driver-critical data reliably on an OLED screen.

JitBot Sumo Bot
ArduinoL298N RF 2.4GHzMecanum
JitBot โ€” Competitive Sumo Bot

Led a 4-person team to design and build a Sumo Bot with mecanum wheel kinematics, custom PWM motor control via L298N, and a 2.4 GHz RF system โ€” securing 3 wins in 5 competitive rounds at IEEE RAS.

TLM Research
PythonLinear Regression TCADTLM
TLM Extraction Pipeline

End-to-end Transfer Length Method pipeline extracting sheet and contact resistance from multi-device combinatorial measurements, with visualization of device-to-device variation and TCAD simulation validation.

RF Modulation System
MATLABAM/FM RFSignal Processing
Spectrum Sizzler โ€” RF Modulation System

MATLAB-based AM/FM communication system implementing modulation, demodulation, filtering, and audio signal recovery. Successfully transmitted, received, and decoded audio and digital messages over RF channels under real-world conditions.

DisAID Disaster Response Assistant
ReactNode.js ExpressSQLite Gemini API
June 2026 โ€“ Present
DisAID โ€” Disaster Response Assistant

Built a full-stack disaster response app that triages a user's help request as emergency or non-emergency and either routes them to the right resource or pulls in their live location to connect them with the right authority. Integrated the Google Gemini API to reason over user input, significantly cutting the back-and-forth typically required with a human dispatcher for routine requests.

๐Ÿ‘พ
JavaOOP SOLIDEvent-Driven
January 2026 โ€“ May 2026
Space Invaders Game

Rebuilt a Java Space Invaders game from a tangled single class into separate input, logic, and rendering components following SRP and OCP principles, making it far easier to add features without breaking existing code. Added support for custom sprites, backgrounds, music, and continuous shooting through event-driven programming and custom exceptions, so players can tweak gameplay without touching the underlying code.

BEVO Search
PythonSQL InterSystems IRISC#
November 2025 โ€“ Present
BEVO Search

Developed a semantic email search tool that pulls messages from Gmail via the Google API and converts them into vectors with sentence_transformers to search by meaning instead of exact keyword matches. Tested against a set of 50 emails and found it surfaced roughly 20% more relevant results than exact-keyword search by matching on meaning instead of literal wording.
